David Feng has been active in the Greater China tech community since 2002. In 2002, he co-founded what was then the Beijing Macintosh User Group (BeiMac), which continued until the death of Apple’s Steve Jobs in 2011, and also was blogging actively about technology (especially Web 2.0) with techblog86 since 2008. Although, in recent years, rail- and language-related engagements have become his main area of activity, he still keeps tabs on the Greater China Apple community, as well as tech, mobile, and innovative developments with this beimac86 blog.
His tech involvements included keynoting the Beijing Usability Day 2005 with a talk about Apple Macintosh UI designs, attending and speaking at Macworld San Francisco 2006, taking part of the ‘China 2.0’ tech tour in autumn 2008, and a TEDx talk on social media in 2009. His PhD (from 2012) is also highly related to social media, as was his years in London (2014-2016).
Mac- and tech-wise, he has also previously blogged with “Penn Olsen” / Tech in Asia as well as “CN Reviews”.
